Version 4.8

This release introduces major enhancements to architecture governance, idea management, and portfolio analysis, including new dashboards, tables, and visualization tools. It adds powerful scoring and prioritization capabilities, expands customization options, and improves usability across key modules. Minor issues have been addressed to enhance data quality, permissions, and relationship management.

Version 4.7

This update introduces new portfolio and AI model management tables, renames UPM-X to UPMX, and makes various improvements to cross-scope privileges and branding, along with bug fixes for Relationship Editor and visualizations.

• Portfolio Table: Introduces a new table and corresponding relationships to manage enterprise portfolios.

Improvements

• Product Name Change: UPM-X is now renamed to UPMX.

• Rebranding: UPMX colors have been updated to align with YouDesign branding.

• Relationship Editor: The "Manage Relationships" button and widget no longer appear when inserting new records.

• Cross-Scope Privileges: Removed limitations to allow for greater flexibility.

• Lifecycle Phases: Lifecycle Phases in the Lifecycle Editor can be configured as read-only in the lifecycle configuration.

Fixes

• Relationship Editor: A new Global Setting allows filtering of results in the Repository Browser based on tables, enhancing user control.

• Relationship Editor: Fixed an issue that caused the wrong redirect when the Relationship Editor Viewer Widget was on the form.

• Visualizations: A new Global Setting enables users to customize the date format within visualizations like Internal Roadmap and Lifecycle.

• Hierarchy Map: Fixed an issue where special characters in records caused the app to crash at startup.

Version 4.6

The latest update enhances BIZBOK® compatibility with new tables, relationship types, and suggested connections, alongside improvements to data quality, relationship management, and various bug fixes.

• Data Quality: A comprehensive error log has been added to help identify and resolve data quality issues.

• Relationship Editor: The "Create Relationships" UI Action has been renamed to "Manage Relationships" for better clarity.

• Third-Party Libraries: Several libraries have been updated to enhance performance and security:

  • D3 updated to version 7.8.5

  • popper/core updated to version 2.11.8

Fixes

• Relationship Editor: The Relationship Editor now requires the UPMX Relationship Reader role instead of the UPMX Relationship Editor role.

• Data Quality: Fixed a bug where a scheduled job would stop if an error occurred during a calculation or if there was an issue with a single Configuration Item (CI).

• Calculations: Addressed a miscalculation in the number of relationships for Business Applications, Business Capabilities, and Processes.

• Realtime Indicators: Resolved an issue with the Business Capability Health Realtime Indicator for demo data.

• Dashboards: Fixed broken images in dashboards.

Version 4.5

This release introduces Metamodel Governance for streamlined change requests, updates the Relationship Editor, and adds new tools like Capability Mapping and License Management Dashboard, alongside several key improvements and bug fixes.

⚠️ Critical upgrade required. Please follow the dedicated upgrade instructions for v4.x to v4.5.

New Features

• Metamodel Governance: This new feature streamlines the entire process of managing metamodel types, properties, and relationships, allowing for change requests from planning to implementation.

• Relationship Editor V3.0.2: Includes all FREELUCY V3 features, such as a new visual representation for Relationship Fields, a new legend section, and support for the reader role in the common entry point.

• Data Quality: The widget field now references technical names for better clarity.

Version 4.4

This release introduces new features like Editable Hierarchy Map, Treemap, and Relationship Picker improvements while addressing various bug fixes and removing legacy tables and reports to streamline functionality.

New Functionality

• Hierarchy and Visualization Tools: Replaced existing Hierarchy Map and Treemap with new versions; added PNG export for Hierarchy Map, Treemap, Chord, and Sankey diagrams; updated Relationship Picker with new capabilities and tooltips.

• New Tables and Settings: Introduced "Business Function" and "Business Events" tables; added a new global setting to support data quality verification; created a new dq_admin role for data quality oversight.

• Additional Features: Introduced the ability to undo changes in the Relationship Picker's commit window; references to Organizational Units in cmdb_rel_ci; a new License Management Dashboard.

• Design and Interaction: Updated the Relationship Picker with a new design, including popups and tooltips; updated Chord and Sankey diagrams with new right-hand panels.

• Global Settings and Conventions: Improved naming conventions by replacing underscores with periods; moved the Hosting Designer app.min file to the ServiceNow instance for enhanced performance.

• Table and Field Renaming: Standardized names and references across various fields to ensure consistency.

Bug & Issue Fixes

• Relationship Picker: Fixed various issues, including inability to change relationship types, auto-search not functioning correctly, and support for long strings.

• Data Quality: Resolved errors in the Data Quality script during relationship commits; fixed the scheduled job that was running for multiple days; addressed security concerns by removing "function constructors."

• Widgets and Visualization: Fixed the Data Quality widget showing incorrect labels; resolved issues with the Chord diagram not displaying on Safari.

Removed Legacy Functionality & Tables

• Removed Tables: Eliminated several outdated tables in favor of updated cmdb_ci_* tables for Business Applications, Business Capabilities, Processes, and Information Objects. No existing customer data will be removed during this upgrade.

Data Quality calculations are now automated for updated fields, and access rights have been modified to enhance security on the APM Dashboard.

Updates & Improvements

• Automatic Data Quality Updates: Calculations now automatically update when changes are made to calculated fields like Internal Lifecycle.

• APM Dashboard Access: Adjusted access rights to improve security and control.

Version 4.3

This release introduces new visualization types like Sankey and Chord, expands field and relationship options, and brings significant improvements to Data Quality calculations, along with various bug fixes and security enhancements.

New Functionality

• New Visualization Types: Added Sankey and Chord diagrams with dashboards for Strategic Planning and Information Architecture. These diagrams are now available for Business Applications, Logical Interfaces, and Information Objects.

• New Tables and Fields: Introduced the "Chatbot" table (x_inpgh_upmx_chatbot) with suggested relationships, and additional fields for Business Applications, Business Capabilities, and Information Objects.

• Enhanced Visualizations and Indicators: Added more visualizations for supported cmdb_ci tables, new Realtime Indicators, and a new reporting table to visualize technology risk and obsolescence.

Updates & Improvements

• Reports and Dashboards: Simplified and added new reports, updated existing ones, and provided Worldmap support for the cmdb_ci_business_app table.

• Treemap and Data Governance: Treemap visualization now opens elements in a new tab; restricted scope for data definitions on cmdb_ci base and child tables.

• Data Quality Widget: Applied ACLs on verification buttons for UPM-X Admin, stewards, and groups; improved sorting; optimized calculations for data quality.

• Additional Access Controls: Added ACLs on supported cmdb_ci tables to enhance security.

Bug & Issue Fixes

• Visualization and Interaction: Fixed Treemap's issue with opening new tabs; resolved Relationship Picker's remapping problems; improved Internal Lifecycle calculation.

• Relationship Calculations: Fixed relationship calculation errors and addressed issues where results were not displayed correctly in the Relationship Picker.

• Data Quality: Resolved calculation problems at the cmdb_ci level, ensuring accurate data quality metrics.

Version 4.2

This update introduces a range of new functionalities at the cmdb_ci level, including dashboards, reports, and real-time indicators, along with improved rollup options, cost and KPI management, and significant updates to the Relationship Picker, plus bug fixes and nomenclature adjustments.

New Functionality

• cmdb_ci-Level Features: Cost management, KPI management, reference models, lifecycle management, and recommendations are now available at the cmdb_ci level.

• New Rollup Options: Added "Maximum" and "Minimum" rollups to show extreme values.

• Dashboards, Indicators, and Tables: Introduced new dashboards and reports, real-time indicators supporting fields on relationships in cmdb_rel_ci, and new usage and hosting tables at the cmdb_ci level.

• Additional Features:

  • Right-click "Jump to…" in the Relationship Picker for quick center element changes.

  • Standards Lifecycle calculated field on x_inpgh_upmx_portfolio_element.

  • New suggested relationships to support end-to-end Enterprise Architecture use cases.

Updates & Improvements

• Reports and Dashboards: Merged and cleaned up existing reports; updated Capability Map with further improvements.

• Renaming and Simplification: Renamed scripts and the "Task" table to "Project Task"; simplified and cleaned up the application menu.

• Relationship Picker: Removed asterisks for easier search; upgraded to SweetAlert version 9.4.3; updated suggested relationships to show both directions.

• Data Quality and Lifecycle: Changed Data Quality Business Rules priority to 200; simplified lifecycle stages; updated lifecycle colors and field styles.

Bug & Issue Fixes

• Relationship Picker: Fixed various issues, including incorrect relationship direction, hierarchy depth, and wrong relationship creation. Improved the settings view to support large numbers of entries, resolved path extension problems, and addressed bugs causing relationships to be created incorrectly.

• Data Quality: Adjusted business rules priority; resolved problems with configured allowed/blocked relationships on Level 2.

Version 4.1

This release adds new relationship management functionality, introduces several new tables for key performance and risk indicators, and offers a range of updates to the Relationship Picker and other areas, while addressing various bug fixes and access control issues.

New Functionality

• Relationship Picker Enhancements: New settings view for UPM-X Admin, features to block duplicated relationships, and the ability to create rules to allow or block suggested relationships based on user groups.

• New KPI Management Tables: Introduced tables to manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Process Performance Indicators (PPIs), Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), Metrics, and Measures.

• New Suggested Relationships: Added suggested relationships for new tables, including a new relationship type "measures :: measured by."

Updates & Improvements

• Visual Relationship Picker V2.1 (FREELUCY): Improved design with updated colors; browser results now displayed as "(empty)" instead of "NULL."

• Access Control Lists (ACLs): Added ACLs for UPM-X Reader and UPM-X Relationship Editor across various required tables to ensure proper access.

• Scripts and Client Tools: Introduced client scripts to remove the ServiceNow dependency view and relationship editor; new script to clean and reset former data quality tables.

• Application Menu: Adjusted the Business Application (CSDM) and Business Capability (CSDM) menus to open in UPM-X View.

• Extended Image Paths: Extended the image path for the Relationship Picker to avoid access rights restrictions in some instances.

Bug & Issue Fixes

• Relationship Picker Issues: Fixed problems with resizing, not showing all available relationship types, and displaying extended table entries in the browser where no suggested relationships are defined.

• Access Control Problems: Addressed missing dictionary entries causing some tables to be inaccessible.

• Data Quality Widget: Updated ACLs for UPM-X Reader to ensure proper access.

Version 4.0

This update introduces new features like Clickable Hierarchy in Form view, a Data Quality table, and a Data Governance Portal, alongside several new tables for business and data management, as well as renaming adjustments to resolve conflicts and updated lifecycle phases.

Version 3.x
